Summer Associate (MBA Intern)

We are seeking an energetic, self-starting individual to join our team as a Summer Associate. Crescendo Management is an early-stage, boutique consulting firm that takes a remote-first approach. Our clients are small and medium businesses in a range of industries (fashion, agriculture, M&A, nonprofit) that are facing a key inflection point. Most often our clients have gotten their venture off the ground and need help taking it to the next phase and reaching profitability. Some clients do require travel and site visits, but it is the exception, not the rule. We are looking for a Summer Associate to play a critical role in serving our clients. In this role, you may juggle multiple projects simultaneously, necessitating time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Meet with clients and conduct management consulting projects based on client needs

  • Work with clients to provide analysis, development, and documentation of improvement opportunities

  • Execute client projects effectively and efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality

  • Collaborate with any team or project as required, assisting with non-specialized tasks

  • Create, own, and audit reports, presentations, and client-facing materials

  • Multitask across multiple projects, triaging as necessary to ensure success

  • Opportunity to take on projects related to interests (for example, business development, marketing, design, or research)

What we’re looking for:

  • Currently pursuing an MBA

  • Strong track record of success in past roles (we’re not afraid of atypical candidates or non-standard backgrounds, but we are looking for people who have proven badassery in their past domain)

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset

  • Willing and able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to adhere to project deadlines

  • Excitement to learn and grow

Job details:

  • This position is paid ($35-$50/hr depending on experience)

  • This position could be full or part-time with a flexible start and length (no shorter than 10 weeks)

  • We are open to someone starting part-time during the spring semester at $20/hr (mid-March - early May)

  • Some travel may be required (less than 2 days/month) to client sites within 3 hrs drive of Texas

  • The position is remote-first but depending on how things stand this summer we may be able to offer an office space in Houston
